Yes, I have finally found out it is no longer just Modern Warfare 2; it is now going to include the Call of Duty tag on the box. Finally there will be no more arguing with people about the name of the sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

I didn’t even realize it at first in the unboxing prestige edition video of the new, much-anticipated sequel. I am really looking forward to this game due to the fact that all I ever play now is COD 4 because it’s so addicting. Now what I find interesting is the new “Special Ops” mode that will consist of isolated missions in a variety of settings unrelated to the campaign story. The main campaign will be single-player only, but the “Special Ops” mode will support two-player cooperative play : ). Missions in this mode were created from portions of levels in the campaign, and will feature such scenarios as a snowmobile race, a battle alongside United States Navy Seals and fending off a wave of 50 enemies at once. I have been wanting a mode like this to play so if I have someone over there will be more things to do. Sergeant “Soap” MacTavish will return as a non-playable character, after being promoted to captain in the Special Air Service. MacTavish will lead an elite, multinational commando unit, Task Force 141, to counter the resurgent Russian Ultranationalist organization.

The group is now led by Vladimir Makarov, a former associate of Imran Zakhaev with his own nationalistic ambitions. Makarov has been portraying Zakhaev’s death as an act of martyrdom to garner support for his cause, and has built a strong power base in Russia over the years. In response to the threat posed by Makarov, the global community established Task Force 141 to stop him. The campaign sounds interesting and I look forward to it greatly. Along with the enticing story there are new guns along with perks and supposedly attachments as well. There is no reason you shouldn’t buy this game; it is a must have. The more difficult question is which edition to buy: the normal, hardened or prestige edition. The normal version “you got the game great go play it, Xbox Live real fun”- $60. The hardened edition on the other hand has a nice metallic steal book, the game, artbook, and a token for a the original Call of Duty on the Xbox arcade or PSN- $80. The Prestige edition comes with all the things in the hardened edition plus a fully functional pair of night vision goggles. I haven’t totally decided on which version I’m getting yet, but I’m definitely getting the hardened version or above. We’ll have to just what and see if it meets the high standards left behind by COD 4.

The game is officially called “Modern Warfare 2.” Both the Hardened and the Prestige editions of the game do not include the “Call of Duty” tag on the box art. Only the original has it. The in-game menus of all three versions will not say “Call of Duty,” as it is not part of the official title.
Dang son this game is going to be Awsome!!! I wonder what kind of quality those night vision goggles have. I hope this game blows the new halo odst out of the friggin water even tho i prolly buy both lol
